At Crave Nature, we believe that snacking should be more than simply satisfying hunger,  but rather something you look forward to knowing that you're  nourishing your body whilst satisfying your cravings. 

Crave Nature is a small, proudly South African business started by a husband and wife with a big dream.

What started as us investing our own life savings into stock, equipment and a simple market stall that has grown into something we are incredibly proud of. Before there was an online store, there was just the two of us, our products, and a little stall at local night markets.

Over the course of a year, we spent our evenings setting up our stall and meeting customers face-to-face, introducing people to our products. We listened to what customers loved, what they were looking for and, most importantly, what was missing from our catalogue and expanded slowly. 

All those late nights taught us something important.There was a gap for a snack brand that combined exceptional quality with something a little different.

Where It All Began

We saw an opportunity to create a range that brought together the products people know and love — quality nuts and traditional dried fruits — with something more exciting and indulgent.

And so, Crave Nature was born.

Our range combines premium nuts, dried fruits and seeds with unique flavours and coatings, from beautifully caramelised and roasted nuts to chocolate-coated creations as well as other irresistible unique combinations like chilli coated nuts, salted caramel nuts and a whole lot more.

Whilst wanting to create something different, we never wanted to compromise on the basics. We believe that this is what sets Crave Nature apart.

It all starts from where the products are sourced. LOCAL IS LEKKER! Supporting local farmers is fundamental to our vision and mission of supporting local businesses and farmers to stimulate our fragile economy.

Then comes the ingredients we select. We have one rule when it comes to this part of the business. Only the best will do.

The value add part of our business if overseen with strict cleanliness and hygiene in mind, because our customers are paying for quality. Cleanliness is close to God after all.

Being a small business ensures gives us one important competitive advantage being that each detail is overseen closely by my wife and I, allowing us to ensure a trustworthy, high quality snack will be delivered to you.

A Small Business With a Big Dream

Our journey didn't begin with a large factory, a team of employees or a big investment.

It began with a husband and wife taking a chance on ourselves. 

We took our life savings and invested them into our first stock and equipment. We loaded up our products, headed to local night markets and started selling one customer at a time.

Every sale, every returning customer and every kind word about our products gave us the confidence to keep going.

Over the course of that first year, our success at the markets showed us that there was something special here — something worth building.

That is what ultimately led us to take the next step and create the Crave Nature online store.

Today, we are taking what started as a small market-stall business and working towards building a brand that can reach homes far beyond our local community.
